What is an Inside Track Railway holiday?
Well, as the name suggests our forte is railways and in particular, steam
railways. So all the areas we cover include the local steam railways, which are
dovetailed into an interesting, often exciting and always invigorating
itinerary. Our itinerary includes travel by rail whenever possible, takes in
scenic routes, local attractions, and very often special arrangements that only
we can organise because of our long-standing friendship with the operators.
Our Itineraries
Inside Track’s holidays are designed to provide a balanced, innovative travel/touring
programme with plenty of variety and interest. So whether you have just a
passing interest in railways or your primary interest is the railway
attractions, we believe we have something for everyone. The itinerary details
within the brochure provide a flavour of each holiday but detailed itineraries
are often not finalised until a week or so before the holiday. This enables us
to take advantage of local events, make special arrangements with railway
operators and, as experienced Inside Track travellers will know, we often add
attractions that do not appear in the brochure.
Our Accommodation
We know that the hotel is one of the most important aspects of your holiday, so,
when selecting our hotels, our primary objective is to provide comfortable
accommodation in a location geographically suitable to the area of each
holiday. The hotels in our programme cover a wide range of different styles in
different locations, but we have looked for a high standard of cleanliness,
room facilities, service and restaurant cuisine. When evening meals are
included we insist on multiple-choice menus (i.e. not set meals) and encourage
individual freedom to eat when you please within the hotel's normal restaurant
hours where possible. The prices advertised in this brochure are for
accommodation sharing a twin or double-bedded room with private bath or shower.
Single rooms are very limited and due to hotel policies we unfortunately have
to charge a supplement. Try to come with a friend or partner etc. so that you
can share accommodation. We expect single accommodation to sell very fast -
BOOK EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
Coach Operators
All operators used by Inside Track (many since the company was formed) are
independent, reputable and highly experienced in their field. We constantly
strive to provide the best possible standards.
Rail Travel to/from the holiday start point
Inside Track is a fully accredited A.T.O.C. Rail Agency, which enables us to
provide our customers with a complete ticketing service. Simply state your
start (home) station when booking and we will supply your rail tickets at the
same price you could purchase them at your local travel centre or station. If
you have a railcard (senior citizen, for example) indicate this also so that we
can apply the appropriate discount. Fares are not always available at the time
of booking so your confirmation may state T.B.A. (to be advised). Indicate,
also, if you require seat reservations.
