OUTLINE ITINERARY
Special Note: This trip is first-class between London and Luxembourg. Meals and drinks on
Eurostar are included in both directions.
Wednesday – Meet at St Pancras International late morning from where we travel by Eurostar
to Brussels, then on by Belgium and Luxembourg railways to Luxembourg, arriving
about 19.00hrs.
Thursday – Luxembourg has so much to offer and so we have no hesitation in devoting our
first two days to exploring the city and tiny country. Today we can absorb the
atmosphere by touring the stunning Petrusse Gorge and taking a stroll through
the historic city centre. Our innovative rail tour of the south will complete a
perfect introduction to the country.
Friday – Totally overlooked in the world of tourism are the beautiful forests, valleys
and towns of Luxembourg
’s northern province. So, our rail/coach-coordinated tour will discover towns and
countryside that are both beguiling and fascinating. A half-day trip also
allows the time to explore the city itself, independently.
Saturday – An easy day but what a holiday highlight. In the heart of Luxembourg is Fond de
Gras, and here we will enjoy steeply graded standard gauge steam, narrow gauge
steam and surprises galore. An outstanding day out sampling steam in the
forest.

Sunday – We need more steam today, so this is combined into a splendid circular trip by
train from Luxembourg to Wasserbillig, in Germany, then a stunning cruise along
the Moselle Valley to Remich. From here it is a short journey across the border
to The Valley De La Canner, where our privately hired steam train will be
waiting - rural France at its best. We return to Luxembourg by S.N.C.F. from
Thionville.
Monday – An excellent return journey, first-class aboard the 09.00 train from Luxembourg to Brussels, connects with the Eurostar,
arriving back in London about 14.00 hrs.
